Cabaret Pub

Early Saturday morning Karen and I painted in the peace and quiet of the day. I enjoyed the challenge of the quickly changing shadows and light on this blocky building. But I'm wondering if, since being a neighborhood bar, if we should return on a busy night and capture the buzz of a Saturday evening??? I'm thinking yes.

I love the colors in this painting. You've got some really nice contrasts between the building and the sky. Hope you'll do more---maybe when it's a busy day there!

Really well done.

You got that sunlight here. It looks great, and phew, it looks sunny. :)

I love the textures on this, and I'd really be interested in seeing a nightlife version of it!

Hello Melinda,
Hello Karen,
Hello Joan,
and Hello Kerri,
Well, I think between talking to myself and reading your responses, doing some night scenes is a good idea. And I'm anxious to get out and try it in warm weather as I've only done night scenes in late very chilly fall/winter temperatures. stay tuned for night life paintings!!!

Oh good! I think a day/night contrast would make a great pair - looking forward to it!

Hi Susan,
Great warm/cool balance on this one!
I have hopped over occasionally from Karen's blog and admired your work.
I was very honored to receive your compliment and even more so since I see your impressive resume'. As I scrolled through your blog I noticed the Greenville connection.
My mom moved there in the 70's. The last time I visited her she took me on a tour of local galleries. Next time I'll be checking out your originals.
One great thing about your body of work is the variety of subject matter and even execution...you don't respond the same way every time.
I'll be checking in regularly, now that you are on my reading list.

Hi Deborah,
Hello Kathleen

I agree, we definitely gotta get our gear and head out at night. I need my partner in crime because I'm not comfortable by myself so hopefully this will be the week/night!

Hi Jill, I am so thrilled that you took the time to check out my blog. I do hope you get to City Art Gallery and see some up close and personal. They have a number of fun events happening this summer which your mom (&friends might enjoy. City Art is one of my galleries which shows my figurative pieces. Happy Painting!!!
