I would love to see this painting "in person". It bet it's magnificent with your palette knife work and 48x36 size! Wonderful work, Susan!
Would love to have you stop by and perhaps run out and plein air together. Next time your in my area, let me know and I'll show you this piece. In January it gets shipped out to North Carolina.
Hi Susan! I know it's hard to recreate mother nature's colors, especially now when everything is almost neon, but I think you did a great job with this tree. Must be gorgeous to see full size.
Brilliant. I love the fall colors. You did a magnificent job capturing the colors of nature.
From where I am, you got the "intensity". Would love to see this in real life. Beautiful piece.
Oh my goodness, I love this! What a great title and even more beautiful work. Wonderful series.
Hi Deborah, I imagine recreating on silk is even more challenging than with oil. I can simple scrap away my mistakes but if you don't like some stoke you laid down, what can you do??? Well, your results are always so amazing.
Hello Joan, It's really wonderful to hear this painting struck you in such a positive way. It is of course my hope to recreate that feeling of a beautiful crisp fall
Pam, come on over to Chicago. We'll plein air and I'll show you the painting!
Hi Kathleen, So glad to receive such a positive response. It's always so nice isn't it. I mean after we struggle alone in the studio. It's nice to know others like the results. Happy Art-making!!!
I'm slack in my commenting...
But I SO admire this work!
The edges are awesome.
Sometimes with a knife,
I get a too sharp edge,
but these are so nicely worked.
Sorry to post so late but I love your point that it takes some physical exertion to paint that large. I just tried my first large painting and my arm was sore the next day! Lessons through experience. Go figure. Thank you for the great work.
