I painted this from a small "blop" painting and added more of the floor because I wanted to show the dramatic sun-spot from the large window. I'm a bit concerned that I elongated her body a bit too much. What do you think?

This is a time when I wish I had the computer skills to help. Actually, I think the head might be a bit bigger as it is closer. Foreshortening is so difficult. I like the composition and pose. The use of light really sets it off. Perhaps someone with better perspective skills will give better advice.
Thanks Honor, I'll try playing with the back of the head because I do want to keep the length.
From the perspective of an absolute non-expert in figures:
(1) I think the slight elongation makes her look more graceful
(2) You've communicated what I think you wanted to say in the painting - the drama of the sunspot vs. the dancer's relaxed/exhausted pose - does it really matter if she's not anatomically perfect? Not to this viewer! :)

oh good, I did make her head slightly taller but kept her length. I'm glad to hear how you read this piece because it is what I felt too.
I don't think she looks too long at all... I agree with Deborah...even if she's technically "too long", it doesn't look like it in the context of the painting...it adds to the concept.
This is really interesting. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but it looks like a fantasy/children's book sort of illustration to me, rather than realism. But in a very good way! Not "real" but rather beyond real...almost "surreal." Very cool.

Susan, She does not look too long, but I must say what strikes me is the light. So I am really not paying attention to the fine points. (that's a good thing)
Thank you Loriann, I love the drama of the lighting too which is why I keep painting these models in rooms with very tall slim windows.
