"Cascading Lights"

goofing around in the studio with this one from a painting I did at a quick sketch session. Not so fun or interesting to work without a model especially this gal. She's so passionate about dance and has this lively personality. Anyways, my point was to capture the light falling on her.

For fooling around you did great! Love the colors and the light. I was at live drawing today and could use a lesson from you on capturing the gesture. You were right on.

Hey Susan~
This is awesome...
love the contrast between the abstract skirt marks and the smooth background...
she emanates heat!

I enjoyed getting caught up on your work again...the talk of staying in a warm studio, I can relate to today. I am skipping out of plein-air this morning...It's 25 degrees out there!! I'm not that hearty!

Hello Honor, Deb, Lisa, and Jill,
Thanks for your kind words. I find it quite frustrating when I'm not working from life even though the challenge of painting with a model is also huge. But then it's also so much more fun. Happy Painting!

Hey Jill, what's up with your weather??? I wonder how those cold temps will affect your landscapes. Keep warm
