Definitely my favorite and biggest challenge are these portrait studies. There is so much information to try to capture and also the decisions on what not to paint. I want to get accuracy but keep it "painterly." I took the photos about every two hours to keep track of my progression.

I love the process shots. You did keep it painterly...I always love how in your portraits you manage to capture a really specific person/emotion. I mean, they're not generic, they always get at a really specific essence of the model.
Now you must teach me how.
no I think I'll be staring over your shoulder to get that lushy painterly brush stoke nailed down.
Really nice job!
So beautiful. You've captured her loveliness and personality as well.
I love your paintings but I especially like your plein air paintings. Lovely work :-)
Dear Jala,R. Garriott, and Paul,
Thanks for your kind comments and for taking the time to look at my oil studies. I appreciate the time you took away from your studio.
Happy Painting, s
