head study-"DaLawn"

I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Palette and Chisel Art Academy and Gallery. They have over 60 hours of open studio/live models. This young man can sit hours, literally, without a break. Finally we artists were just too hungry and needed a rest.

Okay, Okay, now I finally get your interest in the figure and portrait. So I was really excited to see this post today. Now maybe I'll join you down there!

Yeah Karen!!! It's so fun and absorbing. And the P&C has the best models.

This is awesome!!!!

Man, I am so jealous you have all these models available. It's so hard to get here, and when you do, it's almost always just a young white person--not much variation around here.

Hey Jala,
yes I feel so fortunate to have some many excellent models available everyday and at an amazingly reasonable price.
Happy Painting!

Thank you for the encouraging compliment Becky Joy. I do love painting the figure and portraits and everything with a figure in it. But working in a studio, with a good model, is totally absorbing.

Susan, this is so expressive! I love the shadow tones in his face and neck.
