I haven't worked on my Bitty Bite series, where I investigate a solitary subject on a square canvas, in quite a while so today I chopped up a lime. Maybe this composition and cropping is awkward??? But I was really attracted to the tactile quality for this painting and had fun using just a palette knife.

Wow! This is beautiful. The composition is powerful (not awkward) and the variety of colors work so well together. I'm really enjoying the high contrasts--makes an interesting and harmonious light.
Hope you'll do more of these...as long as they don't keep your from your lovely plein air painting.
Bitty bite..I like that.
This lime looks majestic as it sits on its throne. I love the way you added dots of red in the green lime peel. It adds the zing only complementary colors can do. Nice.
Thank you ladies. It's hard for me to paint what I feel I've been taught, is a different/wrong composition.
I agree, not awkward, just different. Besides, no one will notice. :)
Who says you can't take a break from leaving space around objects?!
Very nice modern look to this.
