mess

I ran out real quick to try jot down a few notes before dark and more rain. This is a bit of a painting mess. Shows what happens when I'm not calm. But it helps me remember the values and colors. Perhaps later I can paint this again with more thought. It's about our flooding rivering. Even though it leaves such a mess, there are really beautiful colors.

Susan, Your beautiful colors give a real feel for the beginning of spring. You can never do a mess.

I too love the colors. Not sure it's really a mess and I would be interested in seeing what you do repainting it at another time.

Susan, You're right the colors are beautiful. You can probably pull it together well. This does have a lot going for it.
Talk to you later.

I laughed when I read your title. :)
Is it a mess? I don't know...I like the edge variations a whole lot here. I LOVE the fuzzy edges in back. You should keep it, and repeat it, and post both.

Thank you for your supportive comments. I guess it feels like such a mess and flop because it's not what I pictured in my head. If I had been calm I think I could have painted what I really wanted. Now the sun is out, the river is receding, the scene will be different and may not appeal to me anymore. But that's okay, there's sooooooo much to paint out there.
