"January" (North Pond)

This is the same spot as the last post but looking more towards the right. Can you feel the cold? It was just getting ready to snow again so the light was a beautiful silvery gray. This made the colors really pop in an otherwise dreary gray winter scene.

Yes I'm shivering just looking at it! Interesting how you acheived that effect in spite of the warm yellows in the foreground. Well done!

I love it. The two paintings are really beautiful together, too.

Thanks so much for your nice comments. It's just what I was attracted to. I like painting things that go unnotice and bring forth their beauty. Unfortunately it is minus 24 this morning so I won't be going outside to paint.

Oh, yes, I can feel the cold! You are very brave.

I really love the atmospheric background color. Just luscious.

Be careful out there! I saw on the news how unbelievably cold it is. Perhaps working from photos or indoor still lifes would be in order.

Susan, Your neutrals are soooo rich, placed next to the gold it makes a beautiful vibration. Ahhhh! Success. Worth every bit of the freezing cold fingers!
