"Pub Stop" 8"x6" oil painting

This is one of my favorite pub corners in Bucktown because it looks more like an old fashion corner shop. Maybe it was at one point in time. Can you believe I forgot to put in the type on the front sign?

I like this painting a lot, Susan. It has such rich reds and gentle, yet confident, contrasts--not too sharp, not to light.

Yes, I see mystery here and perhaps a statement about the history of the place being lost over time. It's got personality, like an elderly person waiting at a bus stop, full of stories we cannot hear.

"Full of stories we cannot hear" how perfect is that. Thanks so much. Isn't it so fun to stumble upon these things and put them into our art

Thank you Mary. I'm missing the warmer weather to plein air paint. Time to pull out my old winter coat and warm boots and gloves.
