Something Shiny

Karen Phipps gorgeous still lifes on satin fabrics encourage me to try a little "shine" myself. And under the thought provoking tutelage of Michael Van Zely, the satin ribbon slowly went from being a drab piece of cloth to something more closely resembling it's true self.

First of all, this title makes me laugh. It's perfect. This is awesome, and IS shiny. I have to get mine to shine as much. You are kind to say that I inspire you, because I spend a lot of time looking over your shoulder. :)

Susan, This still life is a beautiful abstract as well and yes...it shines! (in more than one way)

Hey Karen, how funny we are "looking over" each other's shoulders. Maybe I'll work up to painting the satin fabrics with patterns

Hi Loriann,
I love that you said "abstract" because I'm really trying hard to see the abstracted shapes and patterns in the chiaroscuro way and not just objects to be painted. Thanks
